This is why the Egyptian sphinx has the front of a woman and the body of a lion. The sphinx was a symbol for the opening and closing of the Egyptian stellar year.

Michael Tsarion / The Irish Origins of Civilization, Volume 2

The Egyptian sphinx, the Greek centaur, and the Assyrian man-bull have much in common. All are composite creatures combining human and animal members; in the Mysteries all signify the composite nature of man and subtly refer to the hierarchies of celestial beings that have charge of the destiny of mankind. These hierarchies are the twelve holy animals now known as constellations--star groups which are merely symbols of impersonal spiritual impulses. Chiron, the centaur, teaching the sons of men, symbolizes the intelligences of the constellation of Sagittarius, who were the custodians of the secret doctrine while (geocentrically) the sun was passing through the sign of Gemini. The five-footed Assyrian man-bull with the wings of an eagle and the head of a man is a reminder that the invisible nature of man has the wings of a god, the head of a man, and the body of a beast. The same concept was expressed through the sphinx--that armed guardian of the Mysteries who, crouching at the gate of the temple, denied entrance to the profane. Thus placed between man and his divine possibilities, the sphinx also represented the secret doctrine itself. Children's fairy stories abound with descriptions of symbolic monsters, for nearly all such tales are based upon the ancient mystic folklore.

Manly P. Hall / The Secret Teachings of all Ages

The Egyptian Sphinx is supposed to have pointed out the initiate's code of conduct by the symbolic interpretation of the four creatures composing it. The body of the bull with its great strength was interpreted to mean the process of labor, "to do." The legs and tail of the lion speak of courage and are interpreted as meaning "to dare." The wings of the eagle bespeak of loftier things, so they are interpreted as "to aspire." The human head, with its sealed lips, means "to be silent." Of all these rules, the last is the most important.

The Sphinx, according to the secret history, is a monument for the first time the Four Elements locked into place and matter finally became solid. In 11,451 BC east, west, north and south were then locked with the Four Elements that make up the physical world.

Mark Booth / The Secret History of the World

[...] according to esoteric doctrine, not only was matter only precipitated out of mind a short while ago, but that it exists only for a brief interval. It will dissolve again in just over nine thousand years, when the sun rises again to meet the gaze of the Sphinx in the constellation of Leo.

Mark Booth / The Secret History of the World

The Sphinx embodies the four cardinal constellations of the zodiac, the four corners of the cosmos - Leo, Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius, the Four Elements that work together to make the material world. The Sphinx, according to the secret history, is a monument to the first time the Four Elements locked into place and matter finally became solid.

Mark Booth / The Secret History of the World

Egyptian civilization reached its peak during the reign of Shem. The Sphinx is now admitted to be a portrait of him.

Eustace Mullins / The Curse of Canaan

...the Sphinx has the body of a dog (not a lion, as supposed by some including astrologers). The face of the Sphinx is that of a woman, not a man. The proper interpretation of this is the female (Orion queen) is the 'head' of her Sirian allies (the dog body)...Egyptian god, Horus, is linked with the "dog star".

UN.i1-PHI: SphinX - The Clock Of Giza

During the most brightest period of the Great Year, commonly referred to as the Golden Age, humanity is capable of the achieving the highest level of understanding of the true working of the universe. During the most recent Golden Age, for example, the pyramids of Egypt were built. This was the time of Atlantis. Actually, this was the second period of Atlantis. During the first one, the Great Sphinx was created. Both projects took place around the start of the Aeon of Leo, which is the last of the four Aeons of the Golden Age. Its first one is Scorpio, followed by Libra and Virgo. The construction dates of around 37,000 BCE for the Great Sphinx and around 11,000 BCE for the Great Pyramid are also mentioned in my book entitled ‘Wholly Science’.
