Barge damaged, Leaks 80,000 Gallons of Crude Oil Into Mississippi River Sunday.

At 1:12 AM Sunday a Barge was Damaged when it hit a bridge, and is now leaking 80,000 gallons of Crude Oil into the Vickegurg area of the Mississippi River, early Sunday Morning. Cleanup Crews were reported to now be on location for the cleanup. It's also reported that another Barge is Damaged, but officials are not sure if it is leaking any Crude Oil, said LT.Ryan Gomez of the US Coast Guard in Memphis,Tenn.

And 8 miles on both sides of the river were closed off to all river traffic, except for the cleanup crews, until all the Crude Oil has been cleaned up, said the U.S. Coast Guard. This happened in the area of the Vicksburg Mississippi River areas early this morning, Sunday the 27th January-2013.
